sunday socializing :)

this morning was rough. debating whether or not to go to church cuz catching up on sleep sounded much better, however after listening to the spirit Annie and I headed off to church. you know those days where you feel like everything is meant just for you? ya, it was one of those days to say the least. i am so grateful for the promptings of the spirit and the ability for me to actually LISTEN to them :) after church Annie and I were discussing that we were so glad we went.
so, I have the fortune to teach relief society and a few weeks ago I'd have to say I gave a pretty awesome lesson! and it made me feel the need to attend the temple. here is an amazing quote that has been a huge inspiration and a new way of thinking. this quote comes from President Howard W. Hunter's first presidency message called "The Great Symbol of Our Membership" in the October 1994 Ensign. In his message he quotes Elder John A. Widtsoe of the Quorum of the Twelve in the April Conference in 1922;
"Temple work gives a wonderful opportunity for keeping alive our spiritual knowledge and strenght. The mighty perspective of eternity is unraveled before us in the holy temples; we see time from its infinite beginning to its endless end; and the drama of eternal life is unfolded before us. Then I see more clearly my place amidst the things of the universe, my place among the purposes of God; I am better able to place myself where I belong, and I am better able to value and to weigh, to seperate and to organize teh common, ordinary duties of my life, so that the little things shall not oppress me or take away my vision of the greater things that God has given us."
This quote makes me rethink my everyday decisions and actions, taking a more eternal perspective and striving to be a person who will be proud of the things I do daily. I love this church and am so grateful for the examples I have around me, as I have said before. I have so many fountains of truth that I lean upon when times are hard, but I hope that by being the person I know I am that I will be considered a fountain of truth for someone out there!
